Antonio Robles Gómez is currently an Associate Professor in the Control and Communication Systems Department at UNED; and, from May of 2021, he is also the Vice Director of Technology, Infrastructures and Economics of the Computer Science Engineering School. In addition, he has been the Coordinator of the Official master’s in computer science engineering, from June 2017 to November 2022. This professor has a broad experience, more than 17 years, in the field of education and research. Therefore, he has recognized two five-year teaching periods by the UNED and two six-year research periods by the Spanish government. He has participated in a big number of R&D projects financed in public calls (11 international projects, 5 Spanish projects, 5 regional projects, 3 networks of excellence).

He is currently a Principal Researcher of a National research project from the Ministry of Science and Innovation, In4Labs (2022-2024), for the development of remote laboratories (electronics, cybersecurity, IoT…) within the Industry 4.0. Furthermore, he has coordinated the UNED projects eNMoLabs (2019-2021), SUMA-CITeL (2022-2023) and LearnIoTOnCloud (2023-2024). Additionally, he is one of the coordinators of the UNED-INCIBE Cybercamp initiative during the 2023-2025 period for the promotion of the development of knowledge and capabilities of individuals and organizations within cybersecurity. He is also co-coordinating the strategic research project awarded by INCIBE through the public call open in early 2023 for the 2024-2025 period.

On the other hand, he has also participated in many papers published until 2023 in international journals (28 JCRs, 6 SJRs, etc.) and conferences (5 GGS 2-class, 19 GGS 3-class, 13 GGS work-in-progress, etc.). A total of 13 relevant papers have been collaborations with prestigious researchers belonging to foreign research centers. He has also supervised 15 final degree and 44 final master projects. He has also participated as a member/reviewer in several international scientific societies, as well as JCR journals and conferences. This professor has also been a member of the consolidated G-eLios research (now, named I4Labs) and G-TAEI teaching innovation groups, both since September 2016; and of the teaching innovation group for cybersecurity, CiberGID, since June 2018. In addition to this, he has supervised two research support technicians, which has been founded by the Community of Madrid and, currently, he is supervising another technician. He also is supervising three PhD students within the Industrial Technologies Program at the UNED’s Doctorate International School, as well as a PhD student in the Biomedical Sciences and Public Health Program (UNED-IMIENS and ISCIII).

He has been a Senior Member of IEEE since September 2015, even, he was a Member of the IEEE Spain Section Board from July 2017 to December 2019 for organizing companies, technical chapter and students’ awards. He has been an elected member of the Executive Committee for the 2020-2021 and 2022-2023 periods as a Secretary within the IEEE Spain Section Board, and the elected Secretary of the Spanish IEEE SP-COM joint chapter since March 2023. He is currently the elected Vice-president for the 2024-2025 period. He also been a co-founder member in July 2020 for the IEEE-Eta Kappa Nu UNED chapter, called Nu Alpha Chapter.
