Ramón J. Sánchez-Iborra is an Associate Professor at the University of Murcia, Spain. From the Technical University of Cartagena, Spain, he received the BSc degree in telecommunication engineering in 2007 and the MSc and PhD degrees in information and communication technologies in 2013 and 2015, respectively.

He has been an Assistant Professor at the University Center of Defense, San Javier Air Force Base, Spain. Besides, he has been an invited professor at the Faculty of Computer Science of the AMIKOM Yogyakarta University, Indonesia (2019) and at the Engineering Faculty of the University of Quindío, Colombia (2017). He has been a post-doctoral visiting researcher at the ARTS research-group of the Mediterranean University of Reggio Calabria, Italy (2018), the Quality and Usability Lab of the Technical University of Berlin, Germany (2018), and the Fraunhofer FOKUS Institute, Berlin Germany (2019). He has been also a visiting pre-doctoral researcher at the NetGNA research-group of the University of Beira Interior, Portugal (2014), and the Telekom Innovation Laboratories (T-Labs) in Berlin, Germany (2015).

His main research interests are QoE in multimedia services, management of wireless mobile networks, 5G slicing, and IoT/M2M architectures. He has published more than 75 papers in national and international conferences and journals. He has collaborated as a TPC member and reviewer for international journals and conferences such as IEEE ICC, EAI ADHOCNETS or IEEE Communications Magazine, and is a member of many IEEE technical committees. He also presents notable experience in participating in national and international research projects as well as transference activities with the industry.
