Víctor P. Gil Jiménez (S’00, AM’02, M’03, SM’12) received the B.S and the M.S in Telecommunication degree in 1998 and 2001, from the University of Alcalá and Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, respectively, and the PhD. degree in 2005 from the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, all of them with Honors. He is with the department of Signal Theory and Communications at the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid as Associate Professor. He worked at the Spanish Antarctica Base in 1999 as Communications Staff. He visited University of Leeds (UK) (2003), Chalmers Technical University (Sweden)(2004) and Instituto de Telecommunicaçoes (Portugal) in 2008 – 2010 and 2023. He has also led several private and national Spanish projects and has participated in several European and international projects. He has received the Master Thesis and a PhD Thesis Award by the Professional Association of Telecommunication Engineers of Spain in 1998 and 2006, respectively. He has published over 50 journal/conference papers and 5 book chapters. His interests are in the field of the advanced multicarrier systems both in RF and Visible Light communications. In the IEEE, he has been one of the IEEE UC3M Student Branch’s founders, where he held Vice-chair and Treasure positions in 2001 and 2003, respectively. He also held the IEEE Signal Processing and Communications Joint chapter chair in 2015 – 2023.
